THREE men were arrested following a suspected fail-to-stop road traffic collision on Aynam Road, Kendal, this morning.

Officers on patrol located a boy in his early teens on the floor at around 1am.

It was thought he had been involved in a road traffic collision, and a vehicle described as a grey Vauxhall Grandland left the scene when officers approached.

A pursuit ensued but was halted due to concerns for other road users.

However, officers later stopped a taxi carrying the suspected occupants of the Vauxhall.

Detective Constable (DC) Chris Nield said three men - an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old from Lancashire and a 29-year-old from Millom - had been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

DC Nield added the three remained in police custody and the teenager was uninjured.

Officers are appealing for anyone with any information to contact police on 101, to email 101@cumbria.police.uk, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 8 of January 13.
