AN "INSPIRATIONAL" new website to help young people pursue creative careers in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales has been launched.
A film maker, an actor and a dancer are among those featured on the website - createyourfuture.me.uk - which is aimed at secondary school students.
There is also advice and tips on setting up a creative business in a rural location.
Behind the venture is Great Place: Lakes and Dales, a pilot project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England, focused on the rural corridor linking Grasmere in the north and Skipton in the south.
The website features videos of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s youngest members of staff, who are doing jobs such as tourism support officer and farm conservation adviser.
The project's business consultant Karen Merrifield said: “Careers teachers may not have had the knowledge to advise young people on job options in the creative industries up to now, but Create Your Future puts that right."
