I THINK we all know the New Road development in Kendal has been... what shall we say - unpopular, impractical.
Let's face it, it's not used. Full stop. So, if we have to live with it, what can we do with it?
Well, here's a suggestion. Trees. Plant many more of them in the sections of grass or have them in very large pots so they can be moved if need be. Place wooden tables and chairs around them, and have some movable electric or gas barbecues.
This would surely encourage Kendalians and visitors alike to frequent this area. Just a thought. You need to do something, South Lakeland District Council.
