EMERGENCY repairs caused train delays after overhead railway lines were damaged at Hest Bank.
Major disruption was caused to rail passengers on journeys between Preston and Carlisle, Windermere and Barrow on Thursday.
The damage was caused by strong winds and led to delays of up to 90 minutes and train cancellations.
Network Rail engineers carried out emergency repairs throughout the night t orepair the lines.
Services elsewhere on the West Coast Mainline were also affected.
