A MAN who erected a tent on New Road, Kendal, to call for a free car park in the town has now cleared the site.
The Gazette first reported on 54-year-old Jeff Hayton's demonstration on January 20. Two days ago, a notice was placed on his tent by South Lakeland District Council ordering him to remove his belongings or potentially face criminal proceedings.
It is understood his belongings were moved voluntarily this morning.
