Lengthy traffic queues along the M6 have lifted, road authorities have said.
All lanes have reopened along the northbound route between Kendal and Tebay.
Traffic had been brought to a standstill owing to two collisions between Junction 37 and Junction 38 of the motorway.
Congestion reportedly stretched back for several miles, following the crash.
However, Cumbria Road Watch reported that the lengthy delays had cleared just before 5pm.
