CHILDREN performed to packed audiences at events at The Forum in Barrow and Coronation Hall in Ulverston.

The Cumbria Music Hub’s Furness and Ulverston Voices Event, for children aged four to seven from 20 primary schools, performed their own songs and then came together to perform Hats Off the musical.

It was written by Sue Gordon, arranged by the Hub Leader Yvonne Hulme directed by Sarah Barkway. They were also joined by musicians from the Hub, and young actors from Furness Academy, directed by Richard Kitchen.

It was a fun filled evening, many of the young people never having performed on stage before. Congratulations go to the 14 primary schools from Barrow that participated and to six from the Ulverston area.

The Hub provides a platform for singing, promoting primarily general confidence and self-esteem, as well as contributing towards children’s development in vocabulary, numeracy, attention, behavioural and social skills.
