A NORTH Yorkshire school is one of just 18 in the UK to have been named a Microsoft Showcase School, recognising "innovative practices throughout (its) leadership, teaching, and learning."
John Hamilton, director of digital strategy at Giggleswick School, said: “Our use of Microsoft Teams as an online homework diary and general planner has earned us our place on the scheme.
"In addition, we run a policy of one-to-one devices, where everyone from year six upwards has a laptop, iPad or other device.
"We are continuing to develop the use of technology to support learning and school life.”
As a Microsoft Showcase School, Giggleswick has access to a global community of teachers. Mr Hamilton takes part in regular discussions and networking, sharing advice, blogs and other resources.
He added: “Giggleswick embraces digital technology to ensure the best possible outcomes for its students and we are delighted and proud that Microsoft has recognised this.”
