ANDREW Armitstead and Andrew Burrow won The Kendal and District Doubles Tournament, after they defeated David Pearson and Nigel Greer 5-1 in the final.
The tournament, which was hosted by The Albion Social and Snooker Club, saw the best ever turnout for the competition with some great partnerships and highly competitive matches during a busy day of action.
Armitstead and Burrow started out as clear favourites, the pair dropping just five frames in early games. Their toughest match was the semi-final contest with Ryan Nightingale and Simon Greenhow.
Both Nightingale and Greenhow were 3-0 down before levelling the match in dramatic fashion. Armitstead and Burrow held their nerve in the deciding frame, though, to reach the final.
The 5-1 scoreline in that contest may give a misleading impression of what was a competitive finale game.
Elsewhere, veteran player Trevor Procter defeated a resilient Keith Wilson in the plate final.
