KENDAL Fellwalkers enjoyed a day of sunshine, showers and blustery winds with rainbows and snowy summits contributing to spectacular views.
After two Sundays of disruption due to flooding, it was good to be out on the fells again. The 'A' group's circuit from Tilberthwaite included the summits of Wetherlam, Swirl How, Pike of Blisco and Lingmoor, and they enjoyed exploring Cathedral Caves at the end of the day. In Yorkshire, the 'B' group crossed limestone country on their way from Austwick to Helwith Bridge and Penyghent. Meanwhile, in a change of plan, the 'C' group followed Robin Lane from Troutbeck to Ambleside before returning over Wansfell.
