A NEW record of £1,700 for a female was set at the Dalesbred Sheep Breeders Association show held at Bentham Auction Mart.
The two-shear ewe, shown by Colin and Alan Price of Longlands, sold to Messrs Chandler of Kirkby Malzeard, North Yorkshire.
Also at the mart, the annual show and sale of individual hill-bred sheep was topped by a Swaledale ewe from Messrs PE and KA Sowerby of Kirkby Stephen which sold for £6,000.
