SOUTH Lakeland District Council have made the decision postpone the community fun day at Millerground on March 29.

They are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. They hope to be able to arrange a new date where the community can get together celebrate all that's been achieved!

THE Outdoor Adventure Centre is still going to offer water sports taster sessions on March 29 as part of the 2020 season launch, so if you want to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the lake, bring the family and go along and join us!

This will be between 12:00 & 15:00 (weather dependent).

WINDERMERE - Diessen Twinning Association recently held its Annual General Meeting in the Marchesi Centre.

The 2020/21 elected officers were; Chair - Mrs. Jenny Borer. Vice chair - Cllr. Leith Hallatsch; Secretary - Adrian G Faulkner and Treasurer, Mrs. Joan Jones.

The committee was re-elected enbloc with other members being asked to help on an 'as needed' basis.

The Chair gave her annual report on the events and visits that have taken place and the Treasurer gave her financial. Discussion took place on the forthcoming visits by staff and pupils of the Carl Orff School and the Blasergruppe and the impact the current Coronavirus will possibly have.

Both commented on the need to attract more members especially from the younger age group.

OLD Laundry Theatre continues its Spring Season on March 20 at 19:30 when the world's funniest string quartet 'Graffiti Classics' will be performing in the theatre.

16 strings, 8 dancing feet and 4 voices with 1 aim; to make classical music wickedly funny and exhilarating for the young and the old!

ON THE 25 March 19:30 there is to be a top-quality evening of English folk music and percussive dance from four piece ensemble 'Stepling.'

BLACKWELL, The Arts & Crafts House are hosting an exhibition entitled The Arts & Crafts of Politics until the 19 April 2020.

The exhibition explores the political lives, activism and designs of Walter Crane and William Morris. The exhibition will integrate the work made by community partners in the exhibition and around Blackwell, with activity spaces created for visitors to participate in their own form of political activism inspired by the Arts & Crafts Movement.

WINDERMERE Jetty Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories are hosting 'Swallows and Amazons' until February 2021. See props from the 2016 feature film.
