THORNTONS have taken the decision to close all stored and cafes in the UK from 6pm.
Colleagues up and down the country will continually monitor the decision, working closely with government advice.
Sarah Ingram, retail director, said: "This is not a decision we take lightly, but it is one we have made with the wellbeing of our colleagues, their families and our valued customers in mind.
"We are also working with our local communities to support at this difficult time in whatever way we can. This includes responsibly distributing food and drink from our stores and cafes in the coming days to support food banks."
Customers can continue to access a range of Thorntons products, including unique personalisation and gift-wrapping offering, online through www.thorntons.co.uk.
