NUMEROUS stores in Kendal have reduced their opening hours in response to the coronavirus outbreak, to allow staff time to restock shelves.

Many are also offering special hours to allow emergency service workers and the vulnerable the chance to do their shopping away from the mass of regular customers.

Asda is open 8am to 8pm every day of the week.

Booths is open between 8am and 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and between 10am and 4pm on Sunday.

Booths is also offering priority shopping hours to elderly and vulnerable customers from 7am to 8am and from 7pm to 8pm, Monday to Saturday. On Sunday, priority shopping time is 9am to 10am.

Morrisons’ opening hours between Monday and Saturday are 8am to 8pm. On Sunday the store is open between 10am and 4pm.

Additionally, between 7am and 8am, Monday to Saturday, only customers with an NHS badge will be able to get into the store to stock up.

Sainsbury’s is open between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Saturday, and between 11am and 5pm on Sunday.

However, between 7.30am and 8am, Monday to Saturday, NHS workers have ‘priority’, while elderly people, carers and those with disabilities have priority on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8am and 9am.
