Diamond wedding anniversary
A couple who built their own house in the 1960s - and still live there - have celebrated 60 years of marriage.
John and Joan Wright married on March, 19, 1960 at Shap church, followed by a reception at a local cafe.
The couple have known each other all their lives.
The pair grew up in Shap before moving to Holme in the early and building their own house where they still live today.
The couple have two children, Sheila and David.
On reaching their Diamond Wedding John and Joan received a card from the Queen, congratulating their years spent together.
