A total of 1,789 UK patients have now died due to coronavirus - an increase of 381 on the previous 24-hour period.
Released by the Department of Health and Social Care shortly after 3.30pm (March 31), figures also show as of 9am today, a total of 143,186 people have been tested of which 25,150 tested positive.
The total number of cases is up from 22,141.
It means the number of confirmed UK cases have more than trebled in a week, from 8,100 on March 24 to 25,150 today.
