AN URGENT road closure has been made near Cartmel.
Road authorities announced earlier this week that the C5029 Cartmel Fell has been closed temporarily to enable BT Openreach to carry out urgent re-connection repair works.
The purpose of the works is understood to be to restore connection to a BT customer who is currently out of service.
The closure came into force on Monday, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. It is due to to last for at least two days.
Meanwhile, an emergency road closure of the U5534 Belle Vue Lane, Ambleside, was made on Saturday.
Its purpose is to enable Morrison Utility Services to carry out repair and rebuild works, due to collapsed chambers. The closure is expected to last five days.
