A PHONE and computer application is providing young people across Kendal the chance to stay in touch with each-other in a safe digital space during lockdown.

A server has been set up on communications app ‘Discord’ under the banner of Kendal Youth Zone, a Sandylands Residents’ Association (SRA) project which has had to temporarily suspend many of its activities due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Young people can use the Discord server to chat to each-other and play games, allowing them to connect and interact from the security of their own homes.

Cllr Adam Edwards, SRA chair, said the Discord server was monitored by DBS-checked residents’ association members to ensure the safety of the young people using it.
