A VIDEO by a Carnforth GP which encourages people in the high-risk coronavirus category to have 'difficult conversations' about what to do if they get the disease has sparked concern in some quarters.

In the clip, posted to Youtube, Dr Andy Knox, who is director of population health for the Morecambe Bay health and care system, asks people to consider areas such as power of attorney and resuscitation.

One section of the video in particular, where he asks viewers to consider if they would like to be cared for at home, even if it meant they would not get better, has caused concern, with some suggesting it was encouraging the sick to forego hospital beds.

However, many others have come out in support of Dr Knox, including in the comments below the video.

One person said: "Open and honest conversation, reflecting the realities of older age and serious illness, and the risk of COVID-19. Well done."
