A NORTHERN baker has been rewarded for a second year running at the Farm Shop & Deli show.

Lovingly Artisan, who have two bakeries located at Plumgarths in the Lake District and Altrincham in Manchester, were awarded the title of national Baker of the Year.

The company fought off stiff competition from Ashbourne Bake House, Derbyshire, Baker Tom’s Bread, Cornwall and Mayfield Farm Bakery, Essex.

The winners of this year’s show were announced via live video feed on Monday March 30 on YouTube.

The judges commended Lovingly Artisan on their win, saying: “They illustrate a great passion for hand-crafted breads and really take into consideration the health aspects of their ingredients.”

Lovingly Artisan owners, husband and wife Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor, said: “Awards like this mean the world. This has given us all a real lift and will help us to soldier on and continue to deliver nutritious and healthy artisan baked breads to our customers.’’
