CUMBRIA Police have turned away a family who were looking to come up to the Lake District for a holiday.
They family of six were stopped at Windermere and escorted back to the motorway by police after being advised to return home.
On Twitter, Cumbria Roads Police posted: "This family of six (2 adults, 4 children) had come from Leigh, Lancs for a trip out to the Lake District today. Stopped at Windermere and advised to return. We are Policing all routes into the lakes. Escorted back to the motorway. #stayhomesavelives"
