A MOTHER who asked her son what he would like for his upcoming birthday said he asked for just one thing.

Luiz Silva, from Barrow, will be turning ten years old on June 17th but he did not ask for presents this year. Instead he just wanted to get some happy birthday messages from famous people, particularly professional wrestlers.

The young wrestling fan, who lives with autism, was going to have his own wrestling themed birthday party, however due to the lockdown he will be unable to have one this year.

Luiz’s mother, Janine, put out the call on social media asking if anyone can get the message out to any famous people to see if they could send a short birthday message to the birthday boy.

Janine’s post had been shared more than 80 times online.

Janine said: “He’s literally been obsessed with wrestling for two years.

“We’ve had some responses, even from the Preston Wrestling company.

“Luiz goes to The Knockout Wrestling company in Barrow and they even call him their number one fan. KOW have been so incredibly good to him. They’ve got him jumpers and have come to see him at Christmas. They’re trying to get some known wrestlers involved too.

“It would be great to get someone like Jason Manford, or Matt Lucas to do it but it is hard to get people like that understandably. We’re just aiming high.”

“We’ve had some wrestling companies sending us letters and cards and even someone from Disney will send a card from the Jungle Book characters.

“Due to his conditions we are totally shielded. But everyone knows Luiz in Barrow, they meet him once and never forget him. I just want to see a smile on this face of my not so little boy.”
