An orchestra has shown their appreciation for the NHS with a video in honour of the institution.

Westmorland Youth Orchestra performed an homage which was specially composed by the orchestra’s conductor Fredrik Holm. The piece was recorded by the players in their homes and can be seen on Youtube.

Mr Holm said: “I decided to write a piece called 'Homage to the NHS'.

“Coming from Sweden I believe the situation with coronavirus has shown a different side of English society. It shows a country that is willing to help each other and support those in need. And we have a health care system that does a fantastic job. It’s quite a serious and moving performance, which is perfect because it shows the strength of the orchestra which I believe is the love for music, and what could be a better gift to give to health and front-line staff.”
