THE report of a burglary in which two engraved watches were taken is being probed.

Cumbria Police yesterday announced an investigation into the incident was taking place.

A constabulary spokesman said the alleged burglary occurred in the South Lakes village of Holme between April 1 and May 13.

He said the items 'stolen' included a solid silver watch with an engraving reading 'To Lily Lion', another watch with an engraving reading 'Stephen from Dad 22.01.1947' and various other items including more watches, signet rings and a ring with a diamond in.
