A BARROW man has pleaded guilty to three separate charges of making indecent images of a child as well as possession of an extreme pornographic image, a court heard.

Mr John Rigg, of Risedale Road, aged 53, pleaded guilty to all charges at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on June 2, 2020, and is due to be sentenced at Crown Court on July 3, 2020 at 10am.

Police received intelligence that the defendant was accessing or making indecent images of children at his address and executed a search warrant on Aprlil 17, 2019.

The extreme pornographic image portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing an act of intercourse with a live animal, namely a dog, and a reasonable person looking at the image would think that any such person or animal was real.

Rigg was given unconditional bail and was required to register with the police under the Sexual Offences Act of 2003.
