POLICE are speaking out over discarded, and often dangerous items found in Cumbria.
Cumbria Police urged the public not to leave barbecues, fire starters and litter around the countryside. The dumping has caused issues for the National Trust Wardens and National Park Rangers who cleared up 300 bags of litter last weekend. Reports of gas cannisters were also made from Lily Tarn, Ambleside.
Assistant Chief Constable Andrew Slattery said: “As the lockdown measures are eased many people are choosing to visit the Lakes, but we appeal to all visitors to respect our environment."
