A MOTHER and her son have shown their gratitude to the air ambulance crew that helped save his life.
Asha Richardson, 26, from Kirkby Stephen, has walked 5km a day in May for the last two years with two-year-old Lennox to raise greatly needed funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
Asha said: “We’ll always be grateful for the helicopter in the sky because without it Lennox wouldn’t be alive.”
On November 29, 2017, Lennox became ill with sepsis and meningitis.
He was delivered to the hospital by the GNAAS in under 20 minutes.
“The air ambulance came really quickly," said Asha.
"We were originally going to Newcastle but because of the wind direction we went to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.”
Asha has raised more than £700 for the service. To donate visit justgiving.com/fundraising/8kinmay.
