FOOTBALL training resumes at a Kendal club with socially distance modifications.

Ibis Football Club entered their fourth week of social distancing training, as they continued to follow the Football Associations guidelines as grassroots football makes tentative steps towards a resumption of play.

The club, which plays in The James Cropper Westmorland League has, like every team, been without any training since the lockdown measures came into place back in March.

After the Football Association released their current guidelines on training, Ibis decided to follow those current rules to precision.

The club cornered off its home Jubilee Playing Fields surface, while creating a number of different sections where the players worked with in small groups.

Each section saw the players work on passing and fitness, while also maintaining social distancing.

No close contact was permitted between each group, while the goalkeepers had a designated section where they worked on various different things as they too followed the social distancing rules. Ibis has even placed hand sanitisers at every single section.

Kendal Town also held its first session last Thursday night.

The Football Association is in active talks as they try and find a way in which grassroots football can return.
