TWO Kendal men completed a charity challenge in aid of The Firefighters Charity.

Fireman Jordan Dorrington and his cousin Ross Dorrington ran a marathon around Lancashire and raised nearly £1,000.

The two ran the 26.2 miles starting from Heysham, down the A6 to Carnforth, across Morecambe promenade into the town and past the fire station then onto Torrisholme.

The fire crew from Morecambe Fire Station showed their support with a round of applause as they passed the front of the station.

The pair said: “We exist to support all fire and rescue service personnel, whatever their role.

“We are also here for all those who have retired, as well as for spouses and qualifying dependants.

“The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.”

“Look out for future fundraising events, such as the annual car wash at a station near you.”
