THE Lake District National Park Authority has created a new role for some of its volunteers with many of their usual activities cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The role of its new 'visitor support volunteers' is to greet visitors and share their knowledge of the Lakes, for example by giving advice on local walks or managing car parks.
