RESCUERS were called out to an ‘exhausted walker’ reported to be suffering breathing difficulties and drowsiness while descending Scafell Pike.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT) was called at around 7.45pm on Tuesday.
The man’s symptoms triggered a positive response to WMRT’s Covid-19 risk assessment.
Team members intercepted the man and escorted him off the mountain to an ambulance, keeping upwind and maintaining 2m of distance.
The ambulance crew determined the man was not symptomatic of Covid-19.
