A MAN has appeared in court accused of a string of offences including shoplifting and criminal damage.
Mark Chapman appeared before South Cumbria Magistrates Court after being charged with three counts of theft, having a knife in a public place and four counts of damaging vehicle tyres.
The 46-year-old allegedly stole a bike from a boy on October 21 last year, had a knife in Kendal on October 30 and took bottles of wine from Lakeland Video and Marks and Spencer.
Mr Chapman, of Broad Ings, Kendal, has also been charged with damaging car tyres on four different occasions in November.
He denied all the offences and will next appear on September 8.
