A South Lakes restaurant has been named as providing the best value for money Michelin starred takeaway meal.

Simon Rogan at home, created by the owner of the two Michelin starred restaurant L'Enclume in Cartmel, achieved the number one spot for best value and experience.

Kitchen experts, Kutchenhaus examined restaurants right across the country, looking at menus, customer reviews and delivery options restaurants have begun to provide during lockdown.

Simon Rogan at home fought off stiff competition from other Michelin star establishments including Kitchen W8 , London and Heston Blumenthal’s The Hind’s Head in Bray.

Last month Mr Rogan, alongside his executive chef Tom Barnes, launched ‘Simon Rogan at home’, creating meals available for takeaway using ingredients from his very own Lake District farm.

Customers for £30 per person can choose from a wide variety of delicious dishes such as, roasted pork shoulder, hen of the woods and elderflower , as well as accompanying wines and dessert.

Many restaurants were forced to diversify after premises were ordered to close to the public, with takeaway meals soon becoming a lifeline for businesses to stay afloat.

From Just Eat, collection only, to postal delivery, restaurants have made sure their food is enjoyed by many during lockdown.

With prices ranging from £19 to £95 and options including live cook a-longs, plating tutorials and meals which are simple to prepare, Brits are now able to enjoy fine dining in their own homes
