A SUSPENDED six week jail term has been imposed on a Wigton woman for three assaults in Penrith.
Anne Patricia Collins, 26, of High Street, Wigton, admitted common assaults on three named females.
She committed the assaults in Penrith on Saturday, July 18, Carlisle's Rickergate court heard.
Magistrates suspended the jail term for two years, but said their decision reflected the defendant's violence, which included 'repeated spitting', punches to the face, and the fact that the victims were carrying out a public service.
Collins was given two weeks consecutive in jail for each assault.
The sentence will involve her taking an "accredited programme" for 17 days. This will include her taking the Probation Service's 'Thinking Skills' course, and rehabilitation activity.
This will be for up to 20 days. Collins must also pay a £128 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and £50 compensation to one of her victims.
