MAGISTRATES have imposed a year's ban on an Eden Valley woman after she admitted drink driving.
Fiona Threlkeld-Brown, 49, from Lazonby, committed the offence as she drove a Vauxhall Vectra on the C3005 road near where she lives.
It happened on January 17. A breath test confirmed that she had 43mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath.
The legal limit for driving is 35mcg.
Magistrates sitting at Carlisle's Rickergate court imposed the driving ban but offered the defendant the drink drivers' rehabilitation course. This may cost up to £250.If completed in time, it will reduce the length of the ban by 12 weeks. In addition, they imposed an £80 fine, with prosecution costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.
