Two counsellors will be taking to the skies to raise funds for two very important causes close to their hearts.
John Warrington, from Bolton-le-sands and Danny Cottrell, from Stockport, will be sky diving in Grange on August 30 to raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), which focuses on men’s mental health and CancerCare North Lancashire & South Cumbria.
During lockdown Mr Warrington has seen a huge rise in demand for his counselling services, as well as the podcast show ‘Good Guys’ that he and Mr Cottrell produce.
He believes it has never been more important to raise awareness for mental health.
“The biggest killer of men aged 25 to 45 is suicide. I also work as a counsellor for CancerCare,” said Mr Warrington.
“CancerCare works with counsellors like me to support people of all ages who have received really bad news about their health.
“We wanted to raise awareness and raise some money and we wanted to put ourselves in the position our clients are in before their first counselling session.
“They’re anxious, they’re nervous, they don’t know what’s going to happen.”
