LAST week’s picture - above - showed a pair of stone faces on either side of the front window to the Castle Dairy in Wildman Street. Built as a farmhouse in the 14th century the dairy was refurbished by Anthony Garnett in 1564. Containing a sixteenth-century four poster bed, up until 2003 it was the oldest occupied property in Kendal. It was being operated by Kendal College but after eight years it closed in 2019.
