POLICE have appealed for information that could help officers uncover a number of thefts that took place in short succession at a civil parish near Kendal.

An investigation has been launched, following a series of thefts which have occurred in the New Hutton area over the past week.

The incidents are believed to have occurred between 6pm on Sunday, July 26 and 6.30am Monday July, 27.

The thefts took place at three different locations in the area.

Two trailers were stolen from yards as well as a fuel trailer containing diesel.

The fuel trailer has since been located, emptied and abandoned.

Police are appealing for witnesses in the surrounding area who may have seen either of these trailers being towed during the time frame mentioned.

Anyone with information that could help officers locate the thieves or the stolen vehicles is encouraged to call PC 2486 Hays on 101, quoting incident number 40 of 27 July.
