A NEW select and collect service is available at Cumbria County Council libraries - including Whitehaven.
Each selection includes up to six items and while libraries are currently unable to offer a request service for specific titles, they will choose books by your favourite authors, or particulars categories of books you enjoy.
Selections for children, young people as well as adults can be put together.
Anyone using the service can also ask to receive large print titles and talking books as well as books, or a mixture of all three formats.
If you are not a member of the library but would like to use the select and collect service, you can join by calling the library you would like to use.
You will be asked to provide identification of your name and address when you pick up your first selection.
Libraries taking part in the scheme include, Whitehaven, Workington, Penrith, Kendal, Carlisle and Barrow.
For more information on the scheme visit their Facebook page, or call them direct.
