A Ford driver will appear before the Swindon magistrates this morning after a crash in west Wiltshire.

Kai Sawyer is accused of failing to stop for police in Pound Lane, Semington, on Wednesday before crashing into another car five miles down the road.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Shortly before 3pm on Wednesday, August 5, a Ford Focus failed to stop for police before being involved in a low speed collision near the play park off Lambrok Road."

Trowbridge man Kai Sawyer, 23, has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, failing to stop after an accident, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and causing criminal damage.

He has been remanded in custody by the police to appear before Swindon Magistrates' Court this morning.

It is expected he will appear in court remotely via police station video link.
