A man has been arrested as police investigate burglaries of multiple homes.

The two incidents took place in the early hours of Sunday, at about 1.15am, at homes on Inglewood Road and Inglewood Crescent, Carlisle.

Officers are now hunting the suspect, who entered the garage and shed of one home and took several items, and then broke into a second property and attempting to take the owners' belongings.

The stolen property was found and returned to the owners, and two sets of keys have been seized as part on the ongoing investigation.

Police are currently looking for another set.

A 30-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a controlled drug, and has since been released under investigation.
