THE Met Office has updated a weather warning for further thunderstorms that could bring disruption to travel and power supplies.
Storms were expected to hit the county overnight until around 3am, but a wider thunderstorm warning remains in place across the UK until 11.59pm on Thursday. Met Office meteorologist Bonnie Diamond said before the storms were due to hit Cumbria yesterday: "Itβs a worst-case scenario β a caution, really, for what could happen β but we are looking at a potential for 150mm rain in three or four hours."
