THE Llanfyllin Charity Shop, which supports the Community Car Scheme, is open again after the lifting of coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

There will be some changes for customers to get used to.

The opening times initially will be different as some of the volunteers are shielding.

The opening times will be: Monday, 10am to 1pm, Thursday, 10am to 4pm and Friday, 10am to 4pm.

Staff have also asked people not to leave donations outside the shop and to limit the amount being donated to begin with, and book ahead.

A spokesman for the shop said: “Many people have been using lockdown to declutter and have lots of things waiting to go to charity shops.

“While we always appreciate your donations, we have had to make some changes to what we can accept. We can now only take donations by prior arrangement.

“This is due to having to quarantine all donations for 72 hours before they can go in the shop.

“We will soon run out of space so to be fair to everyone who has been decluttering we are asking people to bring two bags per person.

“Please do not leave any donations outside the shop at any time as we will not be able to accept them.

“To arrange to bring in donations please text Christine on 07951475888.”

There are other changes, like the one-way system, and the changing room has closed. Shoppers will not be able to try clothes or shoes on – ask at the counter about this. Only six people are allowed in to the shop at a time.

“Please be patient while our staff get used to the changes.” the spokesman added.

“We look forward to seeing all our customers again. It is great to see the shops reopening and bumping into friends again. Do call in and say hello.”
