The mental health of residents during the lockdown has come into focus in a new leaflet from South Lakeland District Council.
The new leaflet states that so far £3,858 has been spend by the council to distribute self help guides, entitled Wellbeing and Mental Health during Covid-19.
The leaflets, produced by a mental health charity, have been sent to all GP surgeries, food banks and voluntary and community groups in the South Lakeland area.
A spokesperson for the council said: “The guide offered information and support for specific mental wellbeing issues including anxiety, stress, low mood and trouble sleeping.”
Chris Wood from the Cumbrian based charity Every Life Matters explained how the charity has worked.
He said: “We distributed over 200,000 copies to Cumbrian households during May and June, and this has been built on excellent partnership working with local councils, such as South Lakeland District Council, and the NHS."
