Residents of Craig Walk, Windermere, enjoyed Ruth Ogden’s Bank Holiday Monday plant sale, which was raising funds for a local charity.
The sales of the garden and house plants, grown by Ms Ogden and supportive neighbours, raised an impressive £200 for Windermere Tools for Self Reliance.
Ms Ogden established the local group of Tools for Self Reliance (www.tfsr.org) eight years ago.
The organisation restores old, unwanted tools for reuse in African countries.
During recent months, tool donations have dwindled and the group is desperately in need of tools of all types (carpenters, plumbers, engineers, builders, etc).
