COMEDIANS are continuing to announce their returns to the stage with another high profile name set to visit Kendal next year.

Hot on the heels of the announcement from John Bishop that he will be bringing his standup performance to the area, Josh Widdicombe has also another he visit Kendal.

Widdicombe, who is one of the countries well known comedians thanks to numerous appearances on TV, including as co host of the popular Last Leg, will perform as part of his UK tour in Kendal in May 8 next year.

A promotion announcement of the new tour stated: "The guy everyone can do an impression of is back with a brand-new stand-up tour.

"A show that will change your life and how you perceive your place in the world.

"Bit much? Fine, it’ll be a very funny night of grumbles and jokes in which Josh will finally tackle the hot comedy topics of advent calendars, pesto and the closing time of his local park."

Only last month comedy superstar Bishop, announced that his new world tour, which will take in the UK, Ireland, America, Canada and Europe, will be coming to Kendal and Carlisle.

His latest tour, called Right Here, Right Now, is another big set of dates that shows that comedians are confident they will be back on stage in front of packed audiences by the middle of next year.

It is a major coup for Kendal Leisure Centre to attract Bishop, with the Liverpool comic rising to fame thanks to well known TV shows such as The John Bishop Show and A League of their Own.

He will take to the stage on November 6, before travelling to perform at The Sands Centre in Carlisle. Other comics planning to bring their stand up tours to Kendal next year include Ed Byrne and Jason Manford.
