THE SEPTEMBER parish council meeting was again held on ZOOM.

The Open Forum led to a discussion about parking in the village, prompted by concerns about parking on pavements especially in the vicinity of Barton Row.

A letter would be submitted to Burton News expressing legitimate concerns and asking for all parking in the village to be done considerately and especially not to block access for prams and wheelchairs etc.

NO OBJECTIONS were raised to either of the planning applications.

Cllrs were assured that investigation was still being undertaken into the flooding and other issues in The Square. It seemed unlikely that any of the recent work undertaken for the PSiCA or flooding relief was responsible for flooding on the East side and the parish council would try to facilitate further investigation behind the affected property.

The condition of the road surface was still to be examined professionally.

It was agreed that specified Cllrs could attend the New Cllrs Course or where appropriate the Chairman's Course.

District Cllr Tom Harvey had confirmed that he was dealing with the issues associated with Church Bank Gardens but as yet could not report back to the parish.

THE Community Group continues to operate for a few people who need either shopping or prescription collection and it is aware that there may be further calls for its services if individuals have to quarantine.

CLLR Hague is still investigating the viability of in Charging Points for the parish under the Charge My Street initiative.

A useful meeting about the new Boon Town development resulted in agreement that the development would take some of the playground for access but in return would provide replacement and new equipment and instal a retaining wall and fence to give the playground both security and visibility.

CLLR Mason -Hornby noted with thanks that Plain Quarry had been strimmed and the damaged height barrier removed.

Finally, Cllr Hopwood asked that at the next meeting the council could consider the installation of benches and planters in the Square.
