A SUPERMARKET has submitted plans to revamp its in-store cafe.

Asda's Kendal store, located on Burton Road, plans to carry out a refit of its café to provide a new seating layout and enhanced catering.

In the application's covering letter Jigsaw Planning Director Katherine Sneeden wrote:"There is an existing café within the Asda store which is well established and meets the requirements of customers visiting the store.

" It serves a variety of food and drink throughout the day.

"Asda are intending to refit the café and will provide new seating layouts and enhanced catering."

Jigsaw Planning has applied to South Lakeland District Council for a Certificate of Lawfulness, which is a means of obtaining a decision from the planning authority that a proposed use or works do not require planning permission.

The refit will only involve internal works, according to the letter, and will not change how the public may access the cafe, which is currently through the main entrance to the store.
