Grasmere's St Oswald's church is now open on weekdays

ST OSWALD'S church is now open on weekdays (9am - 4pm), reserved for school use on Fridays.

Services have resumed on Sundays (11am).

THE WI meet via Zoom today (Thursday, October 8, 2pm).

After the official business, Libby Dixon will give a talk about the importance of developing a healthy lifestyle by maintaining fitness, flexibility, and good balance.

Members will practise functional Pilates movements which can be done whilst seated.

Cheerful chats continue via Zoom next week (Thursday October 15, 2pm).

KNIT and Nat meets via Zoom (Tuesday, October 13, 3pm).

New members are always welcome (contact Christine Batey on 015394 35537).

Members are busy knitting items for TEAMS4U Christmas shoeboxes: hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, and blankets.

In addition to knitted items, the volunteers would also appreciate toiletries, small toys and writing or drawing equipment.

Grasmere Village Society's Annual General Meeting will take place via Zoom (Tuesday, October 20, 8pm).

The AGM will be brief, but is an essential requirement of the Charity Commission, and a minimum of 25 members must participate in addition to the committee.

Invitations will be sent to all members who have submitted their email address.

The GVS committee will meet in the Reading Rooms (Tuesday October 13, 8pm).

DOVE Cottage has reopened, and entry is free for local residents (pre-booking essential).

A programme of poetry readings and literary events is taking place online.

ALLAN Bank remains closed, but the grounds will be open to the public during half term week (October 24-November 1).
