THE WI meet informally for Cheerful Chats via Zoom today (Thursday, October 15, 2pm).

At last week's monthly meeting Libby Dixon gave a talk about her background in health and fitness, the history of Pilates and her personal development as a Pilates instructor, teaching the importance of core strength, flexibility, and good balance.

Members practised functional Pilates movements whilst seated, which proved surprisingly challenging!

Grasmere Village Society's Annual General Meeting will take place via Zoom (Tuesday, October 20, 8pm).

The AGM will be brief, but is an essential requirement of the Charity Commission, and a minimum of 25 members must participate in addition to the committee.

Invitations have been sent to all members who have submitted their email address.

DOVE Cottage has reopened, and entry is free for local residents (pre-booking essential).

A programme of poetry readings and literary events is taking place online.
